  • Big difference with instasaw Billy being that you don't have your power 24/7

My only complaint playing pyramid head is that his Potd travels too slow, and the hit box for it is a little wonky. It can be used to hit people through walls and animations, but its still pretty situational compared to say, Huntress' Hatchett.

I will say though, I feel like its a mistake for a pyramid head to use the cages unless he knows you have DS. Putting someone in a cage burns torment, and torment makes survivors easier to track and opens them up for final judgment. I usually will get a survivor up on a book then encircle them with the trails of torment, ensuring whoever rescues them and most likely the survivor themselves has torment and I rinse and repeat to get all 4 survivors with it. The cages are meant to counter survivor perks, but cages are pretty much a free unhook since the cage is teleported to the opposite end of the map from PH and is actually designed to be tunnel proof as PH cannot find it.

Exactly this. A person that considers PH to be a killer that can easy tunnel by using his cages probably don't know how the killer works.

  • This is currently the sole reason I'm not playing DBD.

Apart from some bugs, he's way stronger now. Less cooldown on his ranged attack and he still has the strongest zoning in the game.

The bugs are what makes him stronger, as you can still instantly hit someone if you stop your power as long as you know the trick.

Uhm what? The change overall is a buff imo, fakes are less effective but proper use of the power is less punishing for the killer. That half second is huge.

Same thing, fakes are still as effective as before, it's just a trick to learn as there is a window of time to perform a M1 just after canceling a M2.

  • As a pyramid head main (actually paused the game for a bit now ,2 months maybe), and when I say main I mean I didn't play anything but him at the end, with maybe Demo, the problem wasn't that he was too strong or too weak, like you said he was in a good position but not at the level of a spirit or to the Nightmare.

The problem with PH was that the options he gave to the survivors were a loose loose situation on chokepoints. Either the survivor locks himself in a window vault animation* or a palet drop animation and you just use your M2, or he doesn't, you stop, and you just basic attack him. Which actually lets the survivor no choice at all. A loose loose indeed.

    • (which are even more obvious with their items disappearing during the animation).

His problem was exactly like Deathslinger, except Deathslinger has more range and can aim, but is also less precise, blablabla little differences but it doesn't matter.

Demo is a bit like that for windows, but not at all on pallets since he can't go through, which makes him less annoying to survivors (and generally he has too much downsides on his soundclues to be frustrating anyway, he has a stealth aspect on his power that he wont ever be able to use in his current state).

They wanted to make PH more like Huntress, if you don't take the window she can't instantly throw her hatchet at you and you can react accordingly. Same for pallets.

Imo it would have been a better change not to slow him when he stops to put trenches as it is an aspect of his power, to forbid the survs to cross some areas of the map at a cost.

But the change on his ability to swing just after he stops to use his POTD is a good choice imo, as long as it isn't bugged like it is right now.

The bonus from the survivor cakes gets applied for the killer too, so no, it's not really worth for anyone to use the cakes now. If all 5 players bring cakes, every player including the killer gets 520% extra bloodpoints if it weren't bugged. The only way you get more points with the bug is if you are the only one bringing the cake. As soon as there are 2 people in the trial, everyone effectively loses some bonus.

But as a killer you can't be in a SWF ? You're always solo and you wouldn't need to care to spare your cakes for others as you're not in a quadraQ. So 140% for you is always better than 104% for yourself, that's again basic maths.

  • "EDIT: Also, the "feel free to take advantage of this bug" bit -- spinning it like this is some kind of bank error in our favor. The whole advantage is that everyone will be trying to stack them in this limited window. It's ridiculous that you're trying to make this bug look like a plus."

Because it IS advantageous in one specific case that is the whole killer mains community. As a killer, right now, you can have 140% BP for your games instead of the 104%. Having stacking doesn't change the facts that you gain more right now. Considering you play a few games every day or such, you are at a 140% for the current games and later on you'll have 416% for free while the survivors uses theirs by stacking it.

So it's 556% instead of 520% but it's just delayed in time.

As a survivor though, it's not really the best idea since you better play with other people that uses their cakes or that are your premades so that you will have the possibility to have the efficiency of having the effect of 4 cakes while using only 1 cake. That's a 400% increase of the cake effect basically.

The killer can't do that, and having a 36% bonus effect right now is highly beneficial.

The best addons are the ones with unique effects with inherent downsides. Hag's bodyblocker addons, Myers scratched mirror ect are great examples of this. However they are also the hardest to make so I understand why there aren't that many of them, as unfortunate as it is.

Was going to talk about it before seeing your second comment, that they should use more types of add ons like that which modify your gameplay rather than add ons which just modify the values. Like, for this the doctor is really well made imo. Even if it doesn't modify your gameplay entirely, it makes every add on unique. Fake pallets allow to bait loops, fake doctors give you a lot of information on the map, red dot and terror radius makes the games way more chaotic, etc ...

Yeah, because 140% is so much better than 416%.

We wouldn't have this issue if they made it right the first time. One step forward 10 steps back.

Well, it is actually worth to abuse for killers right now.

Because you get 36% more bloodpoints with this bug. Survivors keeping their cakes to stack it as SFW later wont affect this, it's just delayed in time.
